Ovidiu lock is located on the Northern Branch at km 11.5 away from the Black Sea port Midia. The operational radio channel is 71 VHF. The maximum lockage time is 30 minutes. |
| The largest convoy allowed to pass the lock is 120 meters long, 11.5 meters wide and 3.8 meters draught. When the wind is very strong or storm the passage of the lock could be temporarily prohibited. Vessels can remain in the waiting ports located upstream and downstream the lock. |  |
